Christmas Season Kickoff At the National Harbor

Last week, we went to the new(ish) National Harbor, a shopping/hotel/restaurant complex just south of DC on the Maryland side of the Potomac River. It's a beautiful place -- lots to do and see. And, they were having their Christmas season kickoff event, so we went to check it out. It was a good time!

It really is a beautiful place, and the Christmas decorations were lovely. Here's the boy in front of one of them.

Strangely, while there we ran into some other convention group who, apparently, invited Mr. Peep. He was too mobbed by grown-ups to get a picture of him with the kids.

And here's the lobby.

Here's a picture of the main atrium, all lit up. Very pretty.

Given the hugeness of the place, we couldn't get a great shot of the tree, but this gives you an idea.

Abby and I had the privilege of attending a "Daddy-Daughter Ball" a few weeks ago. She looked adorable...

... AND we both had a great time. Thanks Mrs. McGinnis, for inviting us!

Carving jack-o-lanterns takes a lot of work. Especially if you're Sean and can't even reach the tabletop.

And here, we see the end product. Happy Halloween (I guess!).

I must say, Sean really does like to read. He takes it quite seriously. Look at that concentration.

GBCS Spirit Week 2009

Back in early October, we had Spirit Week at our school. It was fun, and as always, Abby got to dress up (as you'll see below).

Here's the girl on Mishmash Day...

Sometimes Saturdays are slow. The bedding was on the floor because Kim was doing laundry. Abby found this to be the most fun thing to do shortly after lunch. Go figure.

Lost the first top tooth (third overall) this morning!

He didn't even have to ask -- we just gave him another pancake. Quickly.

Sean's Third Birthday!

He turned three this past Wednesday! Praise God for our little boy -- he is many things, but he is most certainly a great blessing!

He's slowly learning the art of present unwrapping.
