Having fun in Seanie's big boy bed.

My little girl is getting so big. But, I'm not sad -- every new stage is wonderful.

D.C. is such a great city. Especially if you need subjects upon which to experiment with a new camera. :)

Truck Touch at RFK Stadium

Last weekend we attended a truck touch at RFK Stadium with the kids. It was a really neat collection of fire trucks, dump trucks, tractors, backhoes, Homeland Security winnebagos, and even a helicopter (that took off while we watched!). It gives the kids a chance to touch all the trucks, to get inside, get behind the wheel, even (under supervision) operate a few of them. Pretty neat!

Really, the event was pretty cool. You don't get to see stuff like this every day, you know. That guy was up in the air at least 80 feet.

That there's a big piece of equipment.

Then again, my chibbles are small.

It's all relative.

"Fire 'em up, captain -- it's a five-alarm blaze!"

Trucks and horses. Wow!

Patient headed for the ER? EMS worker? Who can tell?

Okay. That's cute.

Mommy found a sack of potatoes in the parking lot. It had chubby legs, so we decided to take it home.

Behind the controls of a real live helicopter. Cool!

Every boy's dream!

A look of true panic. The best part is I don't have any clue why she made this face.

Abby got her face painted with a butterfly...

... with this as the result...

... while Mommy and Seanie painted on a messageboard.

Determination in the dumptruck.

Abby found the air horn on this truck, and pulled and pulled and pulled. Sean was confused. That happens to him a lot.

Typical poses, big-time.

When small children are allowed behind the controls of a large backhoe...

... we'd all best get out of the way.

The last picture before saying goodbye to the truckies... bye bye truckies!

Trip To The Park (With The New Used Camera!)

I took the little 'uns to the playground the other day, to get them some exercise, but mostly as an excuse to try out the "new to me" camera from eBay. Here are the results. I think it's great!

Sean was kind enough to pose for my first attempt at a zoomed-in portrait shot. It came out well, I think!

Sean is a good little climber. He'll make the top in no time.

Excited -- finally climbed up to the top of the fake climbing-hill thing!
