Sometimes, when the kids are bored, I give them one of my socks to throw around. Hours of entertainment, and nothing really can get broken. Who knew tube socks were such a lifesaver?

Snowzilla, February 2010

Well, following on the heels of a pretty big snowstorm in December of 2009, we got whacked with another, even bigger storm in February of 2010. It cost us a full week of school. I've never heard of that before. As you'll see, though, it was a lot of fun for us as a family.

We were all stuck inside for a few days, so we did some interesting things to pass the time. One day Abby felt like she needed some exercise, so she broke out the "Aerobics With Gilad" VHS tape from the early 1990's, and she got herself a great workout for about 45 minutes. It was really, really funny to watch.

It started snowing Friday night. There was so much snow, and the sky was so covered with clouds, that it appeared as bright as day outside. This was taken at 9 pm, without a flash.

Some of what we were left with was quite pretty.

This was the measurement from the front yard. About 20 inches, give or take one.

Sean helped me shovel a bit one day, but he's still pretty small. And lazy, when he doesn't want to do something.

Abby was a bigger help.

No idea what they're doing here, in our front yard.

The snow in the backyard reached about 19 inches. This picture doesn't, I don't think, do it justice. But, it is cute.

We found a great sledding hill -- behind the new Target, there's a huge mountain of dirt. when covered with snow, it works wonderfully. Pretty steep, though -- takes some work to climb it.

Sean spends a good amount of time eating snow, during the winter.
